The Board consists of 14 members and is responsible for policy and overall governance, with the day-to-day management delegated to the Director.
Members of the Executive Committee, which meets four times a year, are appointed for the specific knowledge and skills they bring to the Committee. They are, amongst other things, responsible for monitoring:
- financial spending according to the budget;
- implementing strategies and policies as approved by the Board;
- adherence to the work programme;
- adequacy of resources and staff;

- any special investigations undertaken by the organisation.

Systems of financial and internal control are in place to provide reasonable assurance that the assets are safeguarded, and that liabilities and working capital are efficiently managed. The organisation is externally audited twice a year.
