Minister Naledi Pandor welcomed the SACBC delegation and affirmed the role of religious communities who have played and continue to play a significant role in delivering quality education in South Africa. She confirmed that the DHET would like to draw on the skills and expertise available as well as the lessons learned.
Bishop Guiseppe Sandri led the SACBC delegation. He reiterated the SACBC’s commitment to supporting government’s efforts in human, social and economic development. Community Education and Training is a sector receiving particular attention in the implementation of the National Plan for Post-School Education and Training and the Minister appreciates the ongoing collaborative engagement between the Department of Higher Education and Training and the CIE Thabiso Skills Institute.
