Leave Your Print 2025

Every day, thousands of children in South Africa walk to school barefoot.

Choose a day in September/October for children to come to school barefoot and to make a donation to support under-resourced schools in the Catholic network. The Catholic Board of Education (CBE) will use the donations to address some of the needs in the Catholic schools network. Download the flyer below for more details on how your school can participate this year.

The 2024 Leave Your Print Campaign was a great success. Over 70 schools participated raising R164 173.50. We are grateful for the kindness and generosity of the children, parents and teachers within our Catholic Schools’ network. The campaign ran during the spring months, September 2024 going into October 2024. All schools that applied for funding were assisted. Lefoko Primary School was able to get 2 Enviro-Loos. These are dry sanitation systems designed to provide a safe solution for water scarce areas that are not connected to a water borne sewage infrastructure.  These sanitation facilities are also “green friendly” as they do not have any impact on surrounding environments. St Patrick’s Independent School was able to repair a damaged fence around the school, creating a safer environment for the learners and staff. St Ignatius Primary School was able to pay for honeysucker (human waste removal) services for a year while they explore a more permanent sustainable solution to their sanitation needs based on their area location. Rietpoort Primary School completely renovated their learners' ablution block and installed a separate teachers' facility that had been completely dilapidated, ensuring the dignity of colleagues and peers in the school is observed.
