CIE and Absa Celebrate Youth Empowerment Partnership

The Catholic Institute of Education, in partnership with Absa, will be hosting an event on Thursday the 12th of February 2026 at St Anthony's Skills Centre in Reiger Park, to celebrate the success of a youth empowerment project that has enables hundreds of young South Africans who are Not in Employment, Education or Training (NEET) to become economically active.

Funded by the Absa Corporate Social Investment Trust, the project supported 750 unemployed youth (18 - 34 years) with skills training, work-place-based learning (WPBL), entrepreneurship development and business support across seven provinces.

33.5% of participants are now employed or running their own businesses!

The event will showcase the impact of the partnership, with opportunities for media interviews, beneficiary stories and on-site engagement!
