Springfield Convent School: Foundation phase class teacher

Springfield Convent School is a leading Independent Day School for girls from Pre-Primary to Matric. Founded by the Cabra Dominican Sisters in 1871, Springfield is nestled in beautiful historic gardens on Wynberg Hill in Cape Town. The Junior School Principal invites applicants to apply for a Class Teacher position in the Foundation Phase. Applicants who meet the following criteria may apply:

  • Be a fully qualified, enthusiastic teacher, experienced in teaching in the Foundation Phase;
  • Understand, identify with and contribute to the Catholic/Christian ethos and values of our school;
  • Be willing and able to teach the Catholic Religious Education syllabus;
  • Have a proven record of innovation, commitment and professionalism;
  • Have a vision and passion for the education of girls in the 21st century;
  • Have knowledge and or experience of Project/Inquiry Based Learning;
  • Be well versed in curriculum and assessment for the Foundation Phase;
  • Have a sound understanding of the Foundation Phase learner;
  • Have effective organisational and administrative skills;
  • Have good computer literacy skills;
  • Be registered with SACE;
  • Be available after hours to attend school events and functions;
  • Be willing to become fully involved in the school's curricular and co-curricular programme.
